@loisaba_conservancy , home to a giant elephant herd! On our first night we must have seen 50 - all of them brown from where they've been bathing in mud to keep cool We spotted wildlife from Land Rovers, horses and camels..
Torn between the 3 camps we stayed at in Kenya - impossible to choose which I loved most! But safe to say that sleeping under the stars with no light pollution, and waking with the sunrise to views of the @loisaba_conservancy watering hole, was a great big bucket list tick! Loisaba Star Beds camp is built from acacia trees felled by wild grazing elephants, and our open air bathroom came with a resident furry friend (a rock hyrax )! The beds are on wheels so that they can be rolled out, depending on the weather.
The landscape and wildlife in @loisaba_conservancy was just amazing - huge herds of elephants, honeymooning lions, a stalking leopard - and then sundowners with a view, and a 3-course bush breakfast amongst the Fever Trees. Totally spoilt, and loved every minute.
Loisaba Tented Camp was the first stop on our Kenyan adventure, staying in amazing tents on a hill looking out across the @loisaba_conservancy . We spotted elephants from the infinity pool, ate 3 course meals 3 times a day, went on morning and evening game drives, and even safari-ed on horseback, mountain bike and camel! #HYHOIinKenya
Despite some form of food poisoning* after my visit to @lyleslondon it still doesn't totally detract from the lovely evening we had. I've lived in London for over a decade and had been saving Lyle's and its Michelin star for a special occasion.. I'm sure many special occasions have been and gone however - so it was finally time to just bite the bullet and go! Beautiful interior, 6 course set menu (£59), orange wine & lovely ambience *Still waiting to hear more from Lyle's on that.. #HYHOIrestaurantbucketlist#HYHOIinLondon
The bucket list ticks continue, with @rochellecanteen - gorgeous space just off Arnold Circus, in an old school bike shed. Ercol chairs, seating beneath grapevines, and a perfect simple brunch Quite how it's taken me so long to try this hidden gem, I don't know - but I want to go back, for sure.
On a bucket list mission at the mo - and the first one, @marksman_pub ☑️ Love love loved the old man pub downstairs & this beautiful restaurant upstairs; the interior & the Ercol chairs; and the food - especially the honey & brown butter tart which honestly blew my mind! Definitely recommend a trip to Hackney for this one (you can pair it with a visit to @sagerandwilde , another fave, too!) (: @marksman_pub ) #HYHOIinLondon#HYHOIrestaurantbucketlist
Last day in Yosemite: up and out at 04:00, set off along the Mist Trail at 05:30 (before sunrise), onto the Sub Dome (permit required ️) & up the cables to the top of Half Dome ( 2700m) for 09:45 - what a morning - I've never felt so alive! Came back down the John Muir Trail, with its gradual slope and insane views. What a way to turn a year older
