Anyone browsing Instagram will almost certainly have noticed the opening of The Hoxton Paris back in 2017 – the boutique hotel is so incredibly photogenic it’s as if it were made for it! Set in an 18th century monument historique (a protective status given to national heritage sites in France – like the Eiffel Tower, Le Louvre and Notre Dame), it’s a magnificent building. Originally built for the advisor to King Louis XV, it was later utilised for many years as a clothing factory, then lay empty for a decade, and has now been restored to exceptional glory by The Hoxton.
Our long weekend in Paris was positively dreamy, sleeping in the insanely comfortable bed, enjoying the complimentary petit déjeuner left outside our door each morning, and sinking nightcaps in cosy Jacques’ Bar (accessed via a stunning original 18th century spiral staircase). The location is enviable (just a block to much-loved womenswear store, Sezane!) and service was impeccable.
It was with very heavy hearts that we woke at 5am to catch an early Eurostar back to London…
