The oh-so-iconic Battersea Power Station is probably my favourite building in all of London. Currently undergoing extensive remodelling, us architecture-obsessed Londoners wait with baited breath to see how it all turns out… but thankfully there are commercial hotspots opening up already – like No.29 Power Station West, a beaut new all day dining spot in the shadow of the four Victorian era chimneys.
The newest addition to restaurant group Darwin & Wallace‘s growing London restaurant empire (which includes No.1 Duke Street and No.197 Chiswick Fire Station), No.29 is just as beautiful as the Richmond and Chiswick predecessors, with the same stylish lighting, plush velvet furniture, awesome brunch menu, espresso martinis, and (unfortunately) slow, spaced-out service…
But even the omnipresent spacey servers can’t keep me away from this restaurant group when it comes to brunch – the light-filled, high design spaces, Caravan coffee and coconut pancakes are just too much to resist, so I guess I better get used to dining at a more languid brunch pace… A good opportunity to sink a few more of those ‘spresso martinis I guess!
