Not gonna lie, Jacoby’s menu can be a bit off-the-wall (Red Velvet French Toast is literally a deep-fried slice of red velvet cake, which seemed a little OTT to me!) but the overall Jacoby’s experience was bloody marvellous, and just so ‘Austin’.
The restaurant décor is pretty fantastic – though, weather permitting, I’d recommend grabbing a table on the patio. Brunch cocktails, bottomless coffee in enamel mugs (with whipped cream on the side!), a giant Texan flag, and views down to the Colorado River make for a pretty dreamy brunch setup.
Exit through the Mercantile gift shop, and stock up on the very beaut enamel mugs and teaspoons used in the restaurant, plus a host of jewellery, antiques and homeware goodies (great for gifts).
