Pop into Bar Termini at noon or night for an authentic Italian experience. Coffee and pastries from 10am, or cocktails and cold cuts till late, with a blurred line of both caffeine and aperitifs somewhere in between!
In typical Italian fashion, coffees are created with a vintage Italian machine, and served to enjoy at the bar with no option for takeaway – but when the leather banquettes are this buttery soft, the soundtrack this escapist, and the experience so transporting, why on earth would you want to hurry back out onto busy, grimy Old Compton Street?! I can vouch for the tri-layered Bicerin (coffee, chocolate and milk) – it’s the antidote to even the most appalling day!
The alcoholic drinks list is succinct, focused on Italian aperitifs. Negronis take centre stage (choose from Classic, Rose, Vintage or Superior, for £6.50), with a handful of accompanying house cocktails, to ease you into an evening in Soho. Order Italian hams and cheeses on the side.
Bar Termini is tiny, but so perfectly styled – from the marble bar to the wall-mounted luggage racks to the blue and white crockery – that it’s always a joy to escape to – and the all-day offering is a wonderful bonus too.
