People flock to Richmond for the wide expanses of the Park, walks along the river, or browsing the shops. But when you’re done with all that and getting hungry, up until very recently there hasn’t been much worth writing home about, save for a handful of rather sterile chains (in my opinion!). That’s why No.1 Duke St is a bit of a game-changer, with its beautiful interior, outdoor terrace (complete with cosy blankets), cocktail bar and Caravan coffee.
Best enjoyed during daylight for the full décor effect, No.1 Duke St does a great brunch – think ricotta pancakes with poached pears, homemade granola, and field mushrooms on toast with lemon and ricotta.
Brunch cocktails and proper coffee complete the offer, though service leaves a little to be desired – just assume it’ll be a leisurely brunchtime!
There’s a stunning private dining room plus a games room upstairs, and a Sunday lunch menu that needs to be sampled too!
