Loló: Unique brightly styled Mexican spot in the Mission, San Francisco

The Mission district of San Francisco is known for its Mexican restaurants, but none are as memorable or eye-catching as family-owned Loló. The décor is kitsch and fun (with more dog figurines than you can shake a stick at, plus the most brightly flowered wallpaper I’ve ever seen!), and at both brunch and dinner, the vibe is casual and convivial.
At brunch, chow down on huevos rancheros or a Mexican take on the trusty Eggs Benedict, washed down with agua frescas or breakfast cocktails. And at dinner, all Mexican menu favourites are present and correct, with a host of pretty and punchy cocktail accompaniments. This is Mexican culture and cuisine reimagined in a non-traditional and unique way, and I thought it was fab.
Ceviche fans should also check out Loló Cevicheria nearby.
