Crosstown Doughnuts: Fresh gourmet doughnuts in Soho (& all over London)

It was National Doughnut Week last month. God forbid you missed it!? I surprised my team at work with a whopping great delivery from Soho’s gourmet doughnut dealers, and I can say with confidence that the votes for Employee of the Month came rolling in at that moment! So where do you go for the dough? Crosstown Doughnuts of course – to their newly opened little outpost on Broadwick Street (they have several other stockist/van/stall locations too – check the map).
Doughnuts are individually handmade daily, using dough, glazes, compotes and fillings that are made from scratch in-house, so you can guarantee absolute freshness when you decide to treat yourself. Oh and there are no trans fats in any of the doughnuts either, so they’re practically guilt-free… right?!
Flavours to keep an eye out for:
– Peanut Butter & Berry Doughnut
An indulgent take on the classic all-American peanut butter and jelly combination, but this version has blackberry compote and a sprinkling of peanuts.
– Sea Salt Caramel & Banana Cream Doughnut
Fluffy chocolate sour dough base with fresh banana cream filling, topped with homemade chocolate soil and a swirl of sea salt caramel. I barely caught sight of this one as my housemate inhaled it!
– Raspberry Jam Doughnut
The classic, with a giant gourmet twist. Rolled in sugar when warm, and oozing with fresh homemade raspberry home-style jam and freeze-dried raspberries.
– The Lamnut
This one is my hero. Inspired by the traditional Australian cake, the Lamington, this one is a cake ring, smeared with fresh raspberry jam, dipped in chocolatey goodness and rolled around in coconut. Wowzer.
Matcha tea, crème brûlée, rhubarb & raspberry toasted meringue, orange blossom, summer berry, Belgian truffle, tropical compote and classic cinnamon sugar are all on my To Do list…
And then there are the exclusive Single Series collaborations, with past link-ups including whisky, chocolate and coffee brands – like these Ecuadorian 75% dark chocolate desserts borne from a link-up with UK bean-to-bar producer, Pump Street Bakery:
Crosstown serves coffee too. Do breakfast like an American and have coffee and a doughnut, as part of a balanced diet…!!*
Oh and they deliver… I should apologise for your shattered dreams of a summer beach body right now.
