As a Londoner, I frequently find myself visiting cafes that are apparently Brooklyn-inspired, or straight out of Williamsburg. So when I brunched at Five Leaves in Williamsburg, it epitomized everything I’ve come to learn is “Brooklyn” – only better.
Tightly packed tables and stools up at the zinc-topped bar are occupied by hip clientele drinking proper coffee and devouring stacks of ricotta pancakes, smashed avo on toast and Moroccan breakfasts.
Carefully curated flower bunches top each table, servers are all tattooed and pierced and super friendly, and even the bathroom is beautifully styled. I was, quite frankly, in brunch heaven.
Five Leaves gets busy, so arrive early for the brunch service.
