Riad Edward, Marrakech: Stunning & affordable riad in the medina

It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of riads offering you a place to stay while in Marrakech, so hopefully this recommendation will make it easier for you! Riad Edward is a stunning ten-room riad. Located within the medina, it’s suitably removed from the hustle and bustle, meaning it’s quiet but also pretty difficult to find your way back to through the maze-like streets of the medina!
After entering through a low wooden door, the central atrium is quite breathtaking – sunlight streams down, sparkling off a huge hanging lantern, as guests sip traditional Moroccan mint tea in low-slung chairs and loungers around the turquoise pool.
Rooms are traditionally but luxuriously decorated, and are simple while still covering your every need. Air conditioning, a hammam-like bathroom with a marble topped bath and gilded sink, and breakfast served just outside your door by the pool – Riad Edward is a welcome oasis of calm from the madness of the medina!
Staff speak good English and are eager to help, organising airport transfers, map routes and offering to come and find you should you get lost, unable to distinguish one dusty street from another!
Available to book through Airbnb for around £54 per night.
