London Grind: New coffee, foodie & cocktail spot in London Bridge

London Grind opened to much fanfare in February, as their launch day pledge of free coffee all day drew hoards of caffeine craving punters.
Located almost on London Bridge (any closer and it’d be in the Thames), this Grind follows several previous successes (from Soho to Shoreditch to Holborn), but is the largest yet – and also the only one with a proper kitchen serving substantial meals.
All the Grinds feature neon slogans in some shape or form, and here the giant sign proclaims WHEN A MAN IS TIRED OF LONDON HE IS TIRED OF LIFE. Sleek Scandi furniture, free wifi and plug sockets and red cups of proper coffee (espresso-based drinks only) make this a great space to work.
Breakfast is served till noon – from Bircher muesli to a Raw Breakfast Salad (all things green plus a poached egg). Then from noon till close, London Grind serves an all day food and wine menu – there are brunch-y items, cold cuts, meat and fish mains, affogato desserts and a myriad of wines.
And when people are done drinking coffee, London Grind switches to cocktails. A handful of the creations feature coffee (much to the disgust of the coffee snobs, I’m sure!) – Espresso Martinis, of course, and Hot Flat White Russians, Espresso Old Fashioneds and Pecan Coffee (espresso, bourbon, pecan liquor and maple syrup – wow!), all for £8. But there are plenty without the stimulant too, plus a number of gins that can be enjoyed Pink, Collins or with tonic.
