Insta-August: Instagram highlights from the month

31 days of August and 75 Instagram posts. Follow me @ninafitton for more of the same next month – real-time check-ins at all the bars, restaurants and places I think you should know about.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! {1} Caravan on Exmouth Market is a favourite – the cornbread french toast set me up for the day. {2} Nude on Soho Square does a great granola bowl. {3} Kin Café in Fitzrovia serves up delicious looking breakfast pots and pastries. {4} Whole Foods has a great in-house juicery – this new flavour is a winner.
Long work days are broken up with trips to top class coffee joints and hearty lunches. {1} Everbean is the closest coffee shop to my office – great coffee and homemade cakes. {2} Milkbar is Flat White‘s little sister, also in Soho serving great coffee. {3} Kin Café‘s mounds of superfood and vegan salads are a huge draw at lunchtimes. {4} TAP Coffee will fuel you for the day, with its specialist coffee, homemade cakes, salads and sandwiches.
These dinner options wowed me in August: {1} The launch of Carousel, between Bond Street and Marylebone, showcased the flavours of Argentina by chef Javier Rodríguez. {2} Ramen is my choice comfort food of the moment – Bone Daddies in Soho does the best. {3} Deliveroo brings some of London’s top restaurant cuisine to your door – and there’s so much more choice than just Indian and Chinese! We had Bubbledogs. {4} Central & Co never fails to impress – four of us feasted on a myriad of small plates, all of them exceptional and inexpensive.
I holidayed in Tuscany with my family. {1} We’ve been going to Tuscany for years, since I was tiny. {2} Tans were topped up by the pool with a view, and {3} our house, La Giclaudiere, was absolutely fabulous. {4} The Piazza del Campo in Siena was gearing up for Il Palio horse race. Full photo diary of the trip here.
My good friend Roz had a hen do like no other… 25 of us journeyed to Dorking to take part in The Nuts Challenge, a commando assault course used by the Parachute Regiment, that included much mud, climbing, crawling and cargo nets! We scrubbed up and dined at the Boot & Flogger wine bar in London Bridge after.
{1} Sunday lunch at The French Café in Balham was delightful – beautiful interior and wonderful company. {2} The Reverend JW Simpson is an awesome Fitzrovia cocktail bar from the same group as Bourne & Hollingsworth. {3} Laura is the insanely talented baker behind Beaten By A Whisker – she made this Australian crocodile cake to send Sean off on his travels. {4} I first saw this Jolly Awesome print at Talented Mr Fox bar, so I tracked it down and bought it for my new house!
