108 Brasserie: New & fancy special occasion restaurant

Newly opened 108 Brasserie is a special occasion kinda place. Somewhere you’d go to enjoy original and attractively presented dishes, served impeccably with a flourish, in a surrounding that oozes old school style and a lively ambience.

I first pottered up to Marylebone Lane (which runs parallel to the main High Street) with Penny for the soft launch press dinner in November, where we enjoyed incredibly attentive service at our corner table for two.

An excellent house white, Crispy Pig’s Cheeks and Seared Tuna kickstarted our dinner, closely followed by a plate piled high with Tiger Prawns for Penny, and a delicately presented dish of Roasted Yorkshire Moor Pheasant for myself.

The dessert menu appeared, fittingly headed “Room for more?” Since the previous courses had been of the ‘small but perfectly formed‘ variety, we decided a third and final course was the way to end our wonderfully fancy meal. Penny tucked into an Autumn-Spiced Fruit Crumble served in a mini cast iron dish – perfect for the chilly London evening. My dessert really stole the show though – a warm Chocolate Fondant that oozed as the spoon hit it, with heavenly peanut butter ice cream. Beyond amazing.

Dinner for two with wine was around £100, but if you want something lighter or cheaper, check out 108 Pantry, the adjoining and more casual dining room.  With an absolutely gorgeous interior and plush velvet furniture in paintbox-perfect hues.
