clueQuest: The enjoyably challenging real-life escape game

One evening last week, I found myself locked in a room with 4 friends, as the timer on a TV screen told us that we had 60 minutes to escape. This was all part of our test to become secret agents, working for Mr Q’s Secret Intelligence Service. The success rate of previous wannabe-agents? A measly *confidential*%!
clueQuest is a real-life escape game, where teams of 3-5 have a single simple goal: Escape from the room in one hour using only your mind, logic and teamwork to solve the puzzles, riddles and brain teasers that lead to your escape. Your escape relies on the power of teamwork, with your brain and common sense as weapons.
This video explains it perfectly – with James Bond music and everything!
Now I’m not going to reveal too much in case I give anything away, but one thing I will say is:
BOOK NOW!
Owned and run by four brothers [below] who designed and built the game, clueQuest has been running for around a year and is in high demand (the TripAdvisor reviews are 100% positive) and sells out about 4-5 weeks in advance, so I suggest you put your name down asap. It’s great for team building, or those who are into gaming, and costs around £20 a head (dependent on team size).
There’s a choice between PLAN52, the original challenge, and Operation BlackSheep, the latest addition to the clueQuest saga.
Not to put the pressure on, but my teammates and I escaped within the allotted time and – drum roll please – actually broke the clueQuest record for PLAN52 escape time! Totally chuffed – we shaved 5 minutes off the previous best 😀
We had a huge amount of fun in the process, and celebrated with cheap and cheerful dinner at Pizza Union afterwards.
