Pizza Union: Fab, fast, affordable pizza in Spitalfields

So far this blog has centred far too much on the bank-breaking, luxury that London has to offer – and I’d be fooling you if you thought that was how I dined on a regular basis!
So – back down to earth: Pizza Union.
Three minutes’ walk from Spitalfields Market, right next door to the Hummingbird Bakery, you’ll find Pizza Union, the “superveloche” (superfast) pizza joint where the highest price on the menu is Β£5.95.
Order at the bar (the menu is varied, with something for everyone) and wait all of five minutes for your buzzer to announce your pizza’s arrival.Β Thinly stretched with an excellent crust (choose from three flavours of crust dip to complete the experience) and generously topped, this is probably the best fiver you’ll ever spend.
Hopefully you still have Β£3 spare, because you must purchase the Dolce dessert: a pizza dough ring stuffed to bursting with Nutella and mascarpone.Β I don’t know who came up with idea, but wow, it’s good.
Perfect for…
Lunch or dinner.Β Any time.Β It’s off the beaten track so doesn’t get busy like some of the other Spitalfields joints.Β Go with friends; it’s not a date spot.Β They do takeaway too.
Food tip…
All the pizzas looked pretty fab.Β Just make sure you leave room for the Dolce.
Pricing…
Ridiculously cheap!Β You would struggle to spend more than Β£10.

My favourite London bar is the Zetter Townhouse for its old school glamour and relaxed atmosphere, and the brilliant cocktails of course!

I went to the Zetter for one drink last weekend and loved it – so eccentric! I need to go back to sample some more of their fab cocktails.

My favourite restaurant has to be The Jones Family Project for the ultimate dinner experience. A beautiful spacious two floor restaurant, warm romantic lighting, leather seating, amazing attentive service with a full bar service on the lower ground. I cannot recommend the Baked Medjool Dates Stuffed With Chorizo & Wrapped in Bacon enough as they were deliciously salty and sweet at the same time, the perfect combination. Located near Old Street, a new trendy area, it’s the perfect place to wind down after work.

The Jones Family Project looks great – I love the interior, and the location is perfect for me. I’ve added it to the To Go list π

JosΓ© – Sherry and tapas bar. This is a fabulous tapas and sherry bar in Bermondsey. The atmosphere is brilliant and it is usually pretty full and buzzing! The food is all cooked and presented well and full of awesome flavours. I adore the Patatas bravas, the Tortilla and the Chorizo. In fact I love it all! For those of you who like Sherry then this is the place to be! There is a great list to choose from. Go check it out. I highly recommend it!

One of my new favourite places to go is Ponti’s Italian Kitchen. Located near Oxford Circus, it offers something I have yet to find from any other pizza restaurant, and that is to make your own pizza. It’s really fun if you go as a group, it also come with a drink and dessert. All their other food is really great as well.

Casa Di Fiori, it’s one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever had the chance to walk into. It literally is the house of flowers with plentiful real and fake plants throughout the restaurant. They have gorgeous murano glasses ordered direct from Italy.
I love the fact the have a traditional Italian kitchen but with progressive interpretation. Nothing too over the top, but old favourites cleverly updated. It’s a restaurant not to be missed.

This is RIGHT by my office – I will definitely be checking it out soon – it looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland or something!
