I can’t describe Zoku hotel in Amsterdam as a ‘home from home’… But only because it was so far superior to any home I have had the pleasure of inhabiting. My Loft XL was beautiful – huge windows, an insanely comfy and ginormous bed on a contained mezzanine, a fully equipped kitchenette, awesome rain shower, Scandinavian furniture, inspirational artworks – and even a set of Olympic rings hanging from the ceiling?! A beautiful, compact, ergonomic loft, with everything I could need.
And that was just my private space.
On the top floor, the stylish decor scheme continues, with sofas galore, musical instruments, a greenhouse and fresh coffee. The cosiest hangout, with a pleasant perpetual hubbub of people, perfect for socialising, working or just being.
And with the Living Kitchen, there was nothing more I could possible want for. I drew out brunch for a good couple of hours, enjoying the continental buffet, pastries and a dish from the carefully curated menu (just four perfect options, cooked in the open kitchen), looking out across the Amsterdam skyline.
I loved the entrepreneurial, start-up-y feel of the place, the perfect location, and wholeheartedly appreciated every high design, high tech detail.
Zoku – Amsterdam – I can’t wait to return again soon…
