I don’t understand why Naughty Piglets is called Naughty Piglets – the name is rather kitsch and cutesy, and the logo features comical wine-drinking swine, whereas the place itself is super suave and upmarket… A comment from the owner suggests it’s a state of mind – “eat, drink and be happy like a naughty piglet”, but you’ll have to pop along to find out for yourself!
Regardless, the husband and wife team (Joe in the kitchen, Margaux on the wine) have created something brilliant. With a list of 100+ ‘low intervention’, ‘natural’ (and therefore rather pricey) wines, and a weekly-changing menu created from local seasonal ingredients along with a charcoal grill, they’ve elevated the Brixton dining scene quite significantly.
A faultless meal at Naughty Piglets is guaranteed to come with charmingly personable service, a cosy and lively atmosphere, excellent wine, and perhaps some insanely good Korean BBQ pork belly or Devon crab – all for a very reasonable price (meal for 2 without wine around £55).
